| ¡@ | 101. What are the differences of the PacketLock and general Anti-virus software? A: The PacketLock scan and intercept packet that send and receive from TCP Port primarily. The specify packet including FTP port 21, HTTP port 80, SMTP port25 and POP3 port 110. Most virus spread virus through HTTP port 80, SMTP port25 and POP3 port 110, and the percentage of effects of detect against virus is 80%. But in order to reach 100 percentages effects, we will scan other ports in the future. 102. The PacketLock scan FTP port 21¡BHTTP port 80¡BSMTP port 25 and POP3 port 110, does it can scan other ports? A: The PacketLock only scan those ports that according to the mode of popular virus infection primarily, but it will access to scan other port in the future. 103. After install the PacketLock, do the Client need to sep up other Anti-virus software? A: The PacketLock only scan and intercept the virus to the specify ports, it will not scan the data that have saved in the hard disk, also including disk, CD-ROM, the data from LAN. In order to defend the computer, we suggest users had better to install other Anti-virus software in Client. 104. What kind of windows or message will show when received the virus files? A: The PacketLock will tell the receiver that file has contained virus when received the virus file. The virus send through mail, the PacketLock will note virus warning in the mail content and auto create *.txt attachment and tell the receiver that has virus message and modify the virus program. If virus send through FTP or HTTP, and it will show a virus warning windows to the receiver and modify the virus program. 105. Is the virus code of the PacketLock auto update or manual update? A: The PacketLock will auto update the virus code and main program function. 106. Is it possible to download the virus files that has been scanned by the PacketLock ? A: The virus file will be downloaded but the PacketLock will auto modify the virus then the virus can't work. 107. Where the virus that scans by the PacketLock ? A: (1). If the mail received the mail by SMTP, the mail will be described in the body and it can't work. (2). If the mail received the mail by POP3, the mail will be described in the body and it can't work. (3). If the files downloaded or browsed by HTM, it will show the Message Box, but the file ¡@still exists. (4). If the files downloaded or uploaded by FTP, it will show the Message Box, but the file ¡@still exists. 108. May I check or execute the virus file that has been scanned by the PacketLock ? A: You can check but not execute the file, because the files has been scanned by the PacketLock and the PacketLock has modified the virus mail function then the virus can't be work. 109. Does the PacketLock can scan the mails that are received and sent from WEB Mail? A: No, the PacketLock will scan only when you download or send the attachment in your computer. 110. Will I get any information when the virus code auto update? A: Now it does not provide the update notice of virus code, users can look up the latest update of virus in the www.ggreat.com 111. What kind of ports does it scan? A: The PacketLock only scan FTP port 21,HTTP port 80,SMTP port 25 and POP3 port 110. 112. Will the speed of download become slowly? A: It will have a little affection, but users could set up the switch of the PacketLock Virus Scan. 113. Can it filters if I send e-mail has attached virus? A: Yes, it can. Does the PacketLock filter viruses when someone download virus file from the FTP or HTTP website and those website are install in my computer and contain virus? A: Yes, it can. The PacketLock provide two-way packets scan, if the packet through following ports: FTP port 21¡BHTTP port 80¡BSMTP port 25¡BPOP3 port 110, then the PacketLock will scan and filter automatically. 115. Will I be informed if I send the virus mail, the receiver will be informed? A: No, only the receiver will be informed. 116. How to know the deadline of the virus code of the PacketLock? A: Users can check the deadline in the PacketLock website. 117. Does the PacketLock continue to scan virus after virus code update deadline? A: The PacketLock still provides virus-scanning service, but it can't auto update virus code. If you want to extend the virus update service, you can find it in the PacketLock product website. 118. Is the virus function still working while updating the virus code? A: While updating the virus code, the PacketLock is still working, but the virus code is old. 119. The PacketLock will show virus message when download virus files or receive virus mail, but why does the virus files still existed in the computer? A: The PacketLock scan the packet in the net when download or receive the mail, and the part program of virus file will be modify by the PacketLock . Although the file still exists in the computer, but it can't normal executed, please delete it directly. 120. Does the attachment can be scanned? Can it scan if I re-name the extension? A: It can't scan whole attachment, it can't scan following file: such as *.zip, *.rar, *.jpg, *.mp3 and *.eml. But it can scan that if re-name the extension that had supported, following extension that supported to scan.
Besides, it can't scan the mails send on from Outlook Express or multi-send mails. 121. Does the PacketLock could filter the virus type of hacker or Trojan ? A: It can scan all the extension that support by the PacketLock. 122. Does the PacketLock can prevent the web change from pure malice? A: The PacketLock can prevent the web to be change on purpose. Users could adjust the privacy higher in the network option. 123. My computer has been infected virus, can it install the PacketLock? A: The PacketLock is the network transfer device, it is not the Anti-virus software that install in computer. It can prevent the virus to spread out when the computer infected virus, but if want to delete the virus, it need to ask assistance to the AV Anti-virus software company. 124. Can it delete the virus if I install the PacketLock when I infect the virus? A: It can not delete the virus when you install the PacketLock after infected virus, but it can help to prevent to stop the virus spreading. If want to delete the virus, it need to ask the Antivirus company to assistance. 125. What is the step after infected virus? A: (1). Cut down the network, close and save the executing files, it can prevent the virus spreading. (2). What should I do when receive the doubtful attachment and how to judge the attachment? A: Do not execute the attachment directly when you receive the doubtful attachment. You can scan through the Anti-virus software or mail to the PacketLock's support department. 130. Is it possible to infect the virus after installing the PacketLock? A: The PacketLock is not the omni-various system of Anti-virus, computer might infect virus through other way, and we provide the description that according to the situation of effected virus in Client. The following are the primarily way of effected virus in the Client: (1) If users execute files from disk, CD-Rom, USB, the share of network place and so on, and not execute files that scan by the PacketLock. (2) If virus spread through vulnerability to Client and not through FTP port 21, HTTP port 80, SMTP port 25 and POP3 port 110, and then users execute those virus files. (3) Users did not update virus code immediately while there has new virus. (4) The PacketLock did not update the latest virus code, or do not have virus samples, and caused the users to receive and execute the virus files.
